In 2014 I designed the set for Chinaka Hodge's second full length play, Chasing Mehserle. The play follows an agoraphobic main character (his fear developed after watching Rodney King's beating) who is driven out of the safety of his home by a need to find and kill Oscar Grant's murderer, Johannes Mehserle.
The play took place almost exclusively on and around the stoop/bedroom/command center which functioned as an integral part of the choreography of the piece. Directed by Sean San Jose and Marc Bamuthi Joseph.
